My Story

My passion for animals began long before I ever stepped onto a competition field or joined a Search and Rescue team. As a child, I was always bringing home stray dogs, rescuing birds, caring for wildlife — drawn to animals from the very beginning.

Years later, after starting a family, we welcomed a German Shepherd named Shadow. She became much more than a pet — she was family. One day, Shadow defended our children from a rattlesnake. She survived the bite, but the venom caused severe complications. Multiple vets recommended euthanasia. We refused to give up.

For months we followed treatment plans, attended constant vet appointments, and did everything possible. Shadow eventually recovered physically — but she was never quite the same. Not long afterward, she passed away. For years, my children would ask when Shadow was coming home.

When the time came to welcome another dog, we wanted one connected to Shadow's bloodline. After extensive research, I found a breeder preserving her lineage through frozen semen. They were hesitant to place a working-line German Shepherd in a family home — but after hearing our story, they agreed. That puppy was Enzo.

I had no idea how much Enzo would change my life. I joined a Search and Rescue organization and an IGP club. What started as a promise became a passion. Together, Enzo and I earned our BH, IGP1, IGP2, and three IGP3 titles — including a First Place finish at the Gulf Coast Schutzhund Club Spring DVG Trial 2026.

Along the way, I learned that training isn't something that only happens during formal sessions. Every interaction is an opportunity to build communication, trust, and understanding. Today, my goal is simple: help owners build stronger relationships with their dogs.
